Lion Cub ‘Moxie’ Makes Her Debut At Bronx Zoo

NEW YORK (CBS) ―

The Bronx Zoo is introducing the newest member of its family: the first lion cub born at the zoo in three decades.

Little “Moxie” is living up to her name and has already earned a reputation as a scene-stealer. She playfully jumped on of her parents during her first public viewing Wednesday, running around giving onlookers an energetic show.

Moxie was born on November 6 – becoming the first lion born there in 31 years – but the zoo waited for warmer weather to debut the warm cub. Her parents were part of the zoo’s breeding program.

The cub weighed 3 pounds at birth and zookeepers say Moxie could grow to 350 pounds.
